These festivals and away retreats provide a precious opportunity to study and practice the special presentation of modern Buddhism taught by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, Rinpoche, the Founder of the NKT-IKBU.
The events consist of teachings, empowerments and meditations, with short retreats. Everyone is welcome to attend regardless of experience.
Besides the teaching and meditation program, the festivals and away retreats provide a precious opportunity to meet and practice with like-minded people from all over the world.

The Teacher
Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong is the General Spiritual Director of the New Kadampa Tradition – International Kadampa Buddhist Union. She is the Resident Teacher at Manjushri Kadampa Meditation Center, the mother center of our tradition, and teaches extensively internationally. Gen-la studied and practiced for many years with her Spiritual Guide, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche and is his close disciple. She is deeply respected and treasured throughout the Kadampa world for her sincere reliance on her Spiritual Guide, taking his teachings to heart and putting them into practice in every aspect of her life. She is recognised as a fully qualified Teacher of Sutra and Tantra, and in particular is qualified to bestow the blessings of the Highest Yoga Tantra practices of Heruka and Vajrayogini.
